I have a 2000 Yamaha Waverunner XL800. In the Owner’s Manual, the recommended engine oil is described as “Yamalube 2-W or an equivalent TC-W3 certified outboard oil”. I have always used Yamalube, but it is not readily available in the Auburn-Opelika area. Quicksilver has a TC-W3 certified outboard oil and stated on the gallon jug is that it can be used in “personal watercraft”. Quicksilver is readily available at Walmart, Sam’s and even the Sports Academy. I wonder if anyone on the Boat Maintenance forum has experience using this certified oil? If so, what has been your experience?
If you use Yamalube, where do you generally purchase your oil?
Thanks
