I have considered staining mine as well. However everytime I see one tha has been stained it looks kind of un-natural. Not to mention that the darker color seems to hold heat and just look hot! I know people recommend against it but I just pressure wash mine each spring and it seems to be doing fine. Plus it forces me to do a real close inspection of he structure and repair any problems before they get too serious.
