The question: How much do you think this sort of odd job worth is worth?

How much is it worth to you?

I ask because I seriously do not know what folks expect to pay for this kind of job. I do have a range of expectation for the north Atlanta market. I do not for over there/here around LM.

Scenario;

A guy or gal gets in the pickup or van with the ladder racks on it and drives say, 25 miles to get to you to do the job at say 15 mpg. He brings his "long" ladder say, 28, 32, 36 or 40 feet long.

So far, the scope of work is unclear. Is it the whole house or just 1 high side. Is the high gutter on fascia above 2 stories or 3? Are you willing to entertain adding hard gutter toppers to prevent this necessity in the future?

Let's assume the guy shows up and says "pay me whatever you think it is worth". What is it worth to you? What is it worth to you to have someone else do dangerous work on your property? Do you require such individuals or companies to present proof of liability insurance and workers comp? Business license?

He is already incurred cost of at least an hour travel, at least 3 gallons of gas, plus his wasted time that he could have spent working on another job instaed of coming to see you, even if he doesnt get the job.

I am serious. I need to know what folks think about stuff like this.And no, I am not in the gutter cleaning business. But, all contracting shares issues.
