Over the last several weeks this forum has seen several posts condemning, dismissing and mocking the cash for clunkers program. I've seen no comments of any sort concerning the much more costly $8000 gov't tax credits for first time home buyers. Just wondering why one is terrible and the other gets no attention? Is it because the former is an actual rebate from the taxpayers while the other comes from the taxpayers indirectly? Help me understand.
