I was not specifically referring to you and wish I had specifically exempted you because, as is more often than not the case, both your posts were logical and well directed. I was referring to MM's comments and the LACK of comments from the usual forum suspects.

To inform you and other readers, the event to which I referred occured a week or so ago at a Cracker Barrel in Clayton County Georgia (south of Atlanta). The assault is on the restaurant's security tape but has been released only to the county prosecutor and has not made it to the internet. Witnesses say the man was leaving the building he almost hit the black female reservist's 7 year old daughter with the door. She asked the man to please be careful. His response was to begin shouting racial epithets at her and the girl and to strike her with his fists while continuing to yell at her. She was beaten to the ground and some reports have her being kicked. I believe I'm correct in saying she was briefly hospitalized. He has been arrested. I'm not sure whether it was immediately after the assult or later. The County Attorney has charged him with assult and terroristic threats. The US Attorney is also considering charges. This incident has received a good bit of local coverage but not widespread attention nationally. I think CNN has interviewed the woman. When the local TV stations have tried to speak to the accused's friends and relatives they received no comment and barely veiled threats. Interestingly Cracker Barrel has banned the accused from all their sites. I agree with you the bus assult was largely testostorone on parade with some racial overtones. I think the Cracker Barrel event was nothing less than racial hatred.
