So true, and frankly, so disgusting. They don't pay teachers well, yet we hope that the best and brightest are teaching the next generation.

I found it quite telling that recently, on another forum I belong to, that a woman was thinking of enrolling in college in January to pick up her teaching credits. At least 4 other members, who are teachers, advised her against it, much for the resasons you cited.
