Surprise! Surprise! The United States Postal Service will lose $40B during the next 4 years. And for what? Medical benefits and retirement benefits. Simple solution which private industry does not enjoy! Go to the Feds  empty coffers and get more bags of dollars. If the money box gets low, simply print more dollars. Historical revenue generating  solutions! increase the stamp prices. Cost cutting! Hymm! That would be off limits.

when was the last time you opened your mail box and there was something in there that could not have waited one more day.  Before they get another dollar they should deliver mail M W F .... if you want it everyday then get a PO box and go pick it up.   The world and technology has advanced to the point that no one needs 6 days a week mail delivery.

I applaud the USPS for getting in to package delivery and feel they do a very good job ... now congress needs to allow them to change mail delivery and stop tapping the tax payers.  Let postal rates go as high as needed and the USPS can make whatever cuts they have to ... but stop coming to the tax payers to maintain jobs and services that are no longer needed.

Agreed.   Raise the prices, cut the daily delivery. As I understand it, junk/bulk mail is the biggest user of USPS services.  Raise their rates as well.
Kinda stupid to run a program you know is going to lose money.  Seems their Board of Governors continue to fail to do their job.  Maybe time to consider reorganization, even privitizing.
