coming from atl to check on my house in Pleasure point. Are the roads clear? Power on? Do I need to bring any proof of ownership?

drove here from Newnan last night. Live down hwy 34, Wildwood and Stoney Ridge. Roads clear, no checkpoints. Our power is back on.

It missed us about half a mile, but we never heard anything, had no wind, just spooky stillness. Have friends that were missed a couple of hundred feet--different story--heard the "freight train" up close and loud. Many very fortunate people--not only on the lake, but all over Alabama.
BTW, if anyone needs volunteer help stop by the Paces Point Vol Fire Dept. Many out of town groups want to help clean up. Don't consider this charity, people want to help, accept it graciously. That includes part-timers.

..just got cable back on this afternoon on Avalon and Osprey roads...we and some neighbors called daily...finally sent a truck out to hook up something in Max-Gunter rec camp and got it going down to us..
|
One of my neighbors saw the tornado go by (the lightning flashes evidently made it visible). He said it wasn't very loud......he also said he would have been a lot more scared had he realized how close it was because he thought it was much farther away.
