We saw an old floating dock floating freely around the shore catacorner from The Ridge marina. It was up on the rocks on the north shoreline last weekend. We saw it again yesterday on the south shoreline yesterday.

Are there any officials that I could call to get it out of the lake? I worry that it will float out into the lake and someone might hit it, especially during this busy Labor Day weekend.

Please advise.

Thanks

Just curious, if you're so concerned about it, why didn't you do something with it? Maybe tie it up to the shore so you don't have to worry about it causing any problems.

Thank you for your kind comment but there was no way for me to get out of my boat in those rocks and tie it up. I am new to the lake and am not aware of what to do in situations like this. I will call the marine police and go back over there to see if fit it  is still there.

Oak A Choy if you want to meet up and help me tie it up let me know your number and we can make arrangements.

I appreciate your offer....and your attempt at a smarmy response.  I won't be anywhere near The Ridge during this holiday weekend.  Maybe some other time.  In the meantime,  I would encourage you to take some action the next time you see something....twice....that so alarms you.  You may be suprised at the sense of accomplishment you feel.

My response is not smarmy. I was simply replying to your smart alec response to my genuine question on the forum.

For your info, I did ride back over there today and I took action and called the marine police like the nice gentleman, GoneFishing, advised me to do.

Your initial reply was uncalled for and my request for you to help me go tie it up was genuine. But you only made another unnecessary comment.

Your replies to my posts will be ignored in the future.

JoeBubba,

First of all, welcome to beautiful Lake Martin!  Second, thank you for bringing attention to a potentially dangerous situation.  Sorry for the

other snarky posts......that's not typical of most folks around here.

So only YOU are allowed to make smarmy, snarky posts? Got it. Wait, did I just break your rule? Shame on me.

It is amazing how adults get into insults over a good deed of trying to remove a wayward floating dock from the lake. A thank you was more appropriate.
