Gallup - approval of their handling of the coronavirus:
Hospitals 88-10 State governments 82-17 Your employer 82-14 Trump 60-38 Congress 59-37 News media 44-55
Of all the groups they polled, nothing rates lower than the news media, and Trump beats them by 16% in approval. Expect Trump to mention these numbers the next time he gets a stupid question from the media....which will most certainly be the next time he gets a question from the media.

If you listen to FOX and hear the outlandish comments defending Trump, you will understand the low grade. They interview him for an hour and never challenge him. They suc* up to him just like you. Where do you get your news???

And how many people watch Fox News versus the networks? Answer that question and maybe you will understand why your belief that Fox is driving these numbers is beyond ignorant and silly.

1/ Puzzling because the most trusted group and the least trusted groups are saying the same things about Covid-19.
2/ Instructive because it shows how much success Trump is having in trying to destroy trust in a free and uncensored media!
3/ Really scary....because of ditto above!!!
Think about it folks...please!

Not quite Arch. Media says NYC needs 30k ventilators. Hospitals know that this is inaccurate because even if you could place 30K ventilators, they would sit unused because there are not enough current respiratory therapists to run and oversee that many machines. If you are saying that the media and the healthcare profession are on the same page, then why such media animosity to Fauci and Birx? You would think that they would be media darlings if your statement was true.

The media I have seen are 100% supportive of Fauci and Birx in specific and the medical science professionals in general. They ARE media darlings everywhere except FOX, Breitbart, Infowars, and the extremist right! NYC needs 30,000 ventilators according to the hospitals who are the most trusted of all in the poll MM was so kind to provide. The fact they do not have the staff to operate them does not mean they are not needed. Thousands from the currently less effected areas are volunteering for duty in NY and thousands of other medical and nursing students are being trained for temporary service during the crisis. Lord my sunstantial igornance is dwarfed by yours! Look at the real world rather than the world according to Trump for once in your life!!

I live in this world Archie. Have you ever seen a modern ventilator? It's not just an oxygen source connected to a bellows system. You can't train someone to run one on a moments notice. Well, you could teach someone the on and off switch, but there are so many alarms, set parameters, inspiratory, expiratory volumes and pressures, that must be addressed and constantly adjusted that in inexperienced hands, would become dangerous rather than life-saving. My point is, 30K ventilators without the techs and therapists to manage them is not solving the problem. Did you hear this from the media Archie? No, you heard it from me. Apologies accepted.

what you are saying that the resperators in untrained hands would be inflating people like balloons till they pop?
Antifatech wants to kill people by putting devices in untrained hands so he can add to the death count.

Well Phil, not necessarily pop, but a pneumothorax is one of many potential morbidities of ventilator assisted breathing.

I say it again, if 30,000 machines are needed then get the damn 30,000 machines and then bring in tech staff from areas less infected, train other techs as quickly as possible, and pray for devine intervention but DO NOT just sit on your rightwing axx and throw up your trimbling hands and say what the he!!, let those 30,000 die because even if we get the equipment we don't know how to use it. I hope you are never put in charge of anything important but difficult!!

I heard a report that hospitals have been able to add additional houses that converts a single machine that serves up to four patients. Hope that is true! I never underestimate the American people to innovate in crises.

In case you happened to miss Dr. Birx' pressor yesterday:
Birx scolded the media for buying into each extremist prediction or computer model:
"I'm going to say something that is a little bit complicated but do it in a way we can understand it together. In the model, either you have to have a large group of people who a-asymptomatic, who never presented for any test to have the kind of numbers predicted. To get to 60 million people infected, you have to have a large group of a-symptomatics. We have not seen an attack rate over 1 in 1,000. So either we are measuring the iceberg and underneath it, are a large group of people. So we are working hard to get the antibody test and figure out who these people are and do they exist. Or we have the transmission completely wrong.
So these are the things we are looking at, because the predictions of the model don't match the reality on the ground in China, South Korea or Italy. We are five times the size of Italy. If we were Italy and did all those divisions, Italy should have close to 400,000 deaths. They are not close to achieving that.
Models are models. We are -- there is enough data of the real experience with the coronavirus on the ground to really make these predictions much more sound. So when people start talking about 20% of a population getting infected, it's very scary, but we don't have data that matches that based on our experience.
Having explained to the press that the available numbers aren’t coherent enough to justify hysterical reporting, Birx then gently criticized the media’s fear-mongering about resources, such as hospital beds and ventilators:
And the situation about ventilators. We are reassured in meeting with our colleagues in New York that there are still I.C.U. Beds remaining and still significant -- over 1,000 or 2,000 ventilators that have not been utilized.
Please for the reassurance of people around the world, to wake up this morning and look at people talking about creating DNR situations, Do Not Resuscitate situations for patients, there is no situation in the United States right now that warrants that kind of discussion. You can be thinking about it in the hospital. Certainly, hospitals talk about this on a daily basis, but to say that to the American people and make the implication that when they need a hospital bed it's not going to be there or a ventilator, it's not going to be there, we don't have evidence of that.
It's our job collectively to assure the American people, it's our job to make sure that doesn't happen. You can see the cases are concentrated in highly urban areas and there are other parts of the states that have lots of ventilators and other parts of New York state that don't have any infected. We can meet the needs by being responsive.

and her statement was somewhat reassuring but the daily update on the number of infections and deaths shows no sign of beginning to ''bend the curve''. If you were comforted by her statemnet that NYC has a couple of thousand ventilators when the number of infected in NYC is 39,000+ as of late yeaterday and will go up another 40,000 by Sunday and another 80,000 by next Wednesday then you are being awfully overly optismistic in my opinion. Do you think she will be as hopeful that those couple of thousand machines are going to be sufficient a week from now when the infected number in NYC will likely be well over 200,000? Well, Do you?
She and Fauci are walking on eggs and I suspect that both of them are finding it extremely hard to not walk up to the microphone and say ''Frankly, Everything the president just told you is at best overly optmistic and at worst pure BS!''

You are also assuming worst case symptoms for everyone infected - some are mild, some do not even realize they have it, some may need monitoring and O2 but not ICU and a ventilator.
This is more a legit question for CRD because I know antifatech is full of chit.
What percentage do you think requires ICU and a ventilator?

Fauci and Birx are not putting their medical and public health careers and stellar reputations on the line to trumpet information that is not factually accurate and cutting edge. Didn't you just quote a CMSS letter advocating for Trump to follow his medical and public health advisory team regarding social distancing and yet now you are throwing his team under the bus for dispensing non factual information?

so # times 3% = millions needing ventalors. Simple math
Damn did not know we had over 33 million infections to get to just 1 million ventalors needed, let alone we need multiple millions of ventalators. This must be much worse then anyone is reporting, except Antifatech.
