Someone set afire the Fox News Christmas tree at their NYC studio location.  What kind of sicko would do that?  This is supposed to be a time of joy and celebration.  I visited that location on one of our vacation trips to the Big Apple, and it isn't that big a plaza.  Someone could have been hurt or worse.

Kinda like the woman who set fires at First Baptist in Montgomery back in October. Servpro is still trying to repair the damage done to that beautiful building and its congregation. There are just evil people in this world!

It's like people have just gotten out of control.  It's like some evil force has taken over.  Beating up flight attendents, fights and shooting people, robberies, etc.  One of my FB friends told me that someone opened her gate last night and one of her dogs got out.  Today she went and bought a big lock.  It's like people are acting on their worst impulses.

** Depends on your political leanings - Demonrats are excused and allowed cashless bail assuming they are even charged.  Republicans can expect to be detained and placed into solitary for extended periods.

You know, I'm just not sure that is the only thing driving this.   It feels like something has unleashed people and allowing them to act out.  It used to be societal disapproval that would influence people's behavior (as well as the consequences), but that seems to have no influence over people at all.

As an answer even if you fix the system to perfection - you are still dealing with imperfect people, some of which are just plain damn evil or nutty.  You can put all the laws and systems in the books to create someones ideal utopia - but it will never work for everyone.

There is a saying about making something idiot proof, but they keep inventing better idiots - same applies to the justice system - sadly its not just the criminials who are the idiots as we have seen recently in charging decisions(or lack of with no cash bail, revolving door criminals), defund the police, allowing riots and chaos to run rampant for political reasons and then thinking that it is easy to put the genie back in the bottle once they have been told to loot, riot etc without consequences in the past or expecting that those same people will not turn on the ones who let them run wild in the past when it suits them or their cause.

So right you are.  Police are trained to ask political affiliation before making arrests which saves time and money by alleviating lengthy trials.  When they try to handcuff me I just tell them I'm a Demonrat and they appologize and send me on my way.  My die hard Republican friends on death row simply refused to change parties.

If its just the police you have a 50/50 chance - if its one of the federal alphabet agencies your screwed because they have your voting records already so they know who to up charge with additional crimes as well as higher sentencing demands.
