Anyone read "The 9/11 Commission Report?" Fascinating and engrossing, and longer than some Stephen King books.
Best of all, there's plenty of ammo in it for each party to blast the other. (Keep in mind that the commission consisted of five GOPers, and 5 Dems, and each and every one of them agreed with every word in the book.) So you thought that it was the OTHER President who ignored warnings, but not yours? Wrongo; the book cites 10 missed opprtunities: 4 for one, 6 for the other. (You can read the book to find out which one missed the most opportunities.)
I also learned that it wasn't the passengers who flew Flight 93 into the ground, but it was the hijackers, who realized that their jig was up. In a way, that was the saddest thing, even though those passengers were the reason that mission failed, and they are just as heroic as we always believed, even if the details aren't what we expected. I would be happier if I knew that the hijackers ultimately had no say in the end result, though.
I recommend The 9/11 Commission Report; we can all learn something from it.
