maybe..just maybe our legislators know something we dont...Folks from out of state dont need a vessel license (assuming they know the rules and regs)...but the natives do..
Hmmmmmmmmmm...and it sure seems like there are more out of staters on the water now than natives

States need to have agreements to honor each others laws. This is what we are talking about. Do you think I should have to go to Georgia, Florida and Mississippi and get permits to carry five pistols with me ( two on me and three in the truck) ?

Dang fulltimer, I think if I had to carry that many guns when I go somewhere, I wouldn't go where you go .... LOL

Lock & load....... Now seriously, Some states have an agreement about handguns-- Some don't. I guess people should do their homework before they take on things they aren't sure about. Water related or whatever. Just my thought

Fraid this shows that the boating rental industry in our state is quite powerful politically. Would knock a dent in rental business if those darn out-of-staters had to have license. Think of the millions loss. Not justified by preventing only a few boating accidents causes by folks unfamiliar with boating and Alabama waters. What were you thinking?

Can you imagine a car rental company in Alabama not requiring a valid driving license to drive a car?

Good point

Car rental companies in here do not require that you have an Alabama license only a valid one. Using your logic, states with auto inspections should not allow any auto from Alabama on their roads without being inspected there.
We do have a lot of junk cars on the road here.

I see a little difference between a turn signal not working and no driver's license.
