Wow...water has dropped 6 inches from Wednesday until today (Friday)???

Was at 487.5 on Wednesday according to this site. Logged on this morning and see 487. Was 488.8 this past Sunday.

Would some full timers confirm this rate of drop? If so, I best get moving or my boat will be aground.

I have been noticing the same thing. Thought 1 of the positives, actually the only positive, of the Hurricane rains was that it may extend the boating season. Now it appears my boat may be grounded by next weekend. What's the deal?

it's down about 2 ' from what most people call normal you have a few more days before you need to worrie. The lake has been very nice this week , not much going on . have a lake day.

The power co has apparently resumed the scheduled draw down to be in keeping with the guidelines from FERC. They had to hold it higher for a little while to prevent downstream flooding as the Ivan water was released. It looks like we're getting back on the normal schedule.

The lake is certainly beautiful this time of year. It's a shame more people don't realize how comfortable, smooth, quiet, and just plain gorgeous it is around here right now. It looks like football and Nascar have everybody's attention right now!
