I'm new to the area and would appreciate any feedback on Anchor Bay.

Good experiences? Storage fees in line? Facility quality?

The Restaurant any good?

Thanks in advance!

I keep my boat there during the lake months in the dry stack storage. They do all of our service and we eat at the Dockside fairly often. All are wonderful. The prices seem to be slightly better than the other marinas, particulatly the Russell owned marinas. Customer relations are great. Martha even came out all the way past willow point and towed us back when we broke our impellar belt. We call before we leave montgomery and the boat is always launched by the time we get there. The food is great and very reasonably priced for lake front food. My only complaint (and Don I know you will see this) is that the really old row of slips is falling apart and lack protective molding and could easily scratch a boat if not moored properly. However, martha told me late last summer that yall had repairs scheduled for those. Over all, I am thoroughly satisfied with Anchor Bay. If our budget provides for significant lake time, we will surely be there again this summer.

in my honest opinion.

a little out of my way for gas, however, if I need service support or have questions...i'm heading there. All because, i pulled in one time with a problem, and they fixed me for free, just a fuel filter...but hey! who does that now days????

rest. food was good too.

This is the one with all the big houseboats isn't it?

I've been around this lake for almost 40 years now. Anchor Bay does business the way it used to be back in the good old days. They charge a fair price, and give you great service. Food at the restaurant is great too, but be prepared to wait for a table in season.

At the Russell marinas, you're just another number, and if you have a beef, they've got plenty of people who have been kissing their butts for years trying to get a slip. They're counting on "the next guy."

Anchor Bay just takes care of the folks they have, knowing if they count on "the next guy," eventually there won't be anymore "next guys" to count on.

Personally, I can't wait to see that day come for the Russell marinas. Ben is going be really angry at his marina people (I honestly don't think he has a clue how bad it is), and there won't be a darn thing he can do to stop what has already begun.
