I was coming along hwy 49 between Cove and Oskars....BAM BAM....thought I hit somebody...never saw anything....rediculous fog...turned around and finally found the deer about 15 feet up on
the new sod along the embankment...he hit me...dented in my right rear door on truck and completely rolled up the rt. rear qt. panel behind rear
tire....apparently they are feeding on the new winter grass seeded over the large acreage of sod there.....better watch out for them at night...

Sorry for the deer and your truck, but it is good to hear that you and any passengers are OK. It can happen so quickly and unexpectedly even without the aid of heavy fog.

My daughter was driving slow in the neighborhood (day time), and we spotted a deer running toward us. She came to a complete stop, and the deer still ran head on into the side of the car. Deer are stupid; day or nght.

I've been hit by a deer also. You described the sound and thud exactly right. Do think they are hurt enough to go off and die?

This one appeared to be dead when I saw him up on the embankment last night. I am going now to get a picture of him in case my insurance has any questions. I assume that I am ok without filing an accident report.

Oops, still way too much fog to even drive.......shouldn't have any trouble with adjuster......got deer hair all the way from the front of truck to the back...

I got my picture...sadly, was a pregnant doe.......also saw 3 other dead ones in same general spot....anyone traveling 49 should watch out
for the grass farm.........

This site, "911 Stop and Go" is an actual 911 call about a deer. Be warned, the language is VERY "salty". While I am not a fan of that kind of language, tears roll down my face everytime I hear this. It is funny, and more so because it is a real call.

I know, I know (eyes downcast) - that answer was a blonde one.
I should have said Bambi's mother.
I use Bambi in general because WHO WOULD NAME THEIR SON bambi AND NOT WORRY ABOUT SEXUAL PREFERENCE ISSUES?
And later he becomes leader of the forest....King Bambi. Terrible.

...not so sure I could have gotten it into my truck by myself...and then the fog was rediculous....and I had just donated too much to Uncle Miltie, etc...... I just wanted to go home................

Big buck ran into the side of my wife's car couple of years ago on the bypass around Auburn. Was in January. Think they are rutting now, maybe?
$4,000 big ones. I am with AARP-Hartford, no problem. Dear hair in the door edge seemed to be enough to convince. I did have police stop by my house and took some pictures of the damage.
Later, I found the dear dead about 20-30 yards of road in woods.

My repair bill will probably be in the same neighborhood....yes, I also have deer hair stuck in several places on my truck and some pics of the deer but, now that you mention it, I think I will stop by police dept. in Dadeville and file a report.
