Today the forum has 9 pages of prior post. I wanted to look at a post prior to those listed on page 9. With some 48,000 posts, there must be many, many more pages. Any help would be welcomed.

You will have to search on the posters moniker if they were in use at the time or else figure out a unique phrase or word from the post and do a free word search. If you use a phrase, be sure to put it in quotes so the engine only returns that phrase, and every post with each word of the phrase. Also be patient, it may take a few minutes if it is way back. A three or four word phrase will usually do well, IF you know it is in the post.

Example:

if you type

I had the spinach salad

the engine will return EVERY post with ANY OR ALL of those words.

if you type

"I had the spinach salad"

It will only return posts with that EXACT phrase

Although only 9 pages show the archives go back to day one I believe.

Hope this helps, you may of already known how to use the quotation marks aka Boolean(sp) search, but I am always amazed at the folks I run into that don't.

Hi greystone. In doing a search, You will find way back when, registration was not required on the Forum. Some folks had numerous handles and had a lot of personal fun with them. Even after registration was required, some still found ways to vary and change their alias to deceive others in a hypocritical or pretender sense on the Fourm.

You will find in my case. I was once lamar, max and now my current handle as feb. I did not have various handles to deceive. I always announced my handle or alias change. I also never used my more than one alias at a time even before registration. I was not the exception and a majority of the current old time forum members did the same. Some of the very same folks and myself urged the Forum Manager to require registration. It has helped in my honest opinion.
