Has anyone else contacted Officers of the HOBO’S about anything at all and gotten a response to your questions or concerns? Seems like they would reply to any and all contact from HOBO Members and that does not appear to be the case, WHY? I for one will not be sending them any money to renew my membership until there are some changes.

What was the nature of your question? I will not continue my membership if the leaders are blowing off the members. Mav?

Does not really matter does it? Any and all concerns should be addressed and a reply sent to the member period, if they are too arrogant to answer the most minor question or concern they have no place on the board, even if they do not think the members concern is valid it should and does deserve a response. I could understand if they had not received the email but I got a confirmation they read it, just never got a reply. Does anyone know how many members there are now?

Didn't you read feb's post? According to him, you have to send him 'sworn statements' from you and others to prove ownership of lakefront property before you qualify as important enough to recieve any benifits from the HOBO, or to even post here for that matter. After all, if you don't own property then your 'judgement' is not as good as the all knowing property owners. The president does not 'own' property, but that doesn't matter, he serves the 'right' master.

Hey if you cancel your membership early do they give a refund?
I'd ask them but they do not respond............ I will not be renewing my membership with them and would encourage everyone to do the same.

I contacted the president one time. He responded within 24 hours.

Due to your popularity rating, your plea for people to cancel their membership should really have a dramatic impact....... for joining HOBOs.

Don't really look to this Forum for a boost in self esteem as some seem to.

But you use it to judge others, makes sense I guess. And like I said you did go down another point, the ratings mean nothing here on this forum, you should not make the mistake of thinking so. All it takes is one post where you point out someone was wrong and make him or her look foolish and wham, you drop like a stone. I’d bet that emails fly back and forth and the click that likes to control that start the rating
changes………….. Bet most of my negatives are HOBO board officers.
I’d also bet if you were broke down in the middle of the lake at night and I pulled up and said hi I'm DJ from the forum, can I help you that you'd gladly let me pull your hindend in now wouldn't you as would anyone else that rated me negatively, Cause right at that moment ratings would not mean a thing………….

My rating just doubled. Wohooooo! I'm back to 2. Think I'll put it on my next resume.

I don't boat at night.

Yes it really does matter. First it matters to the rest of us if it is an issue that affects the lake. Second, we would be able to judge the validity of the request.

I have only made one contact with the organization, but I got a reply by the next day. Could have been two but I think it was one.

Which proves that if you aren't in the right circle, you DON"T MATTER. Not to them anyway.

You really should because you are missing out on some of the BEST boating there is to be had.

As for self esteem, I have PLENTY and don't look to this forum to have my ego stroked, like some seem to. I have so many iggy's, I just wonder who they are since the ones that claim too, LIE!

And BTW- I jsut cut your rating in half. So tell me, does it matter to you? Of course not, so why do you think it matters to me?

Just FYI, I did get a response after sending a second email, was told the
Concern had to be investigated, seems kind of funny that there was an answer this time, and must just have been a coincidence the answer was ready when I sent the second request. If the intent was to look into my question then why was there no reply that said hay peckerhead I'll look into this and get back to you. Either way I personally think the HOBO's suck and will not renew my membership, I did send them an email asking them to cancel my membership today.......

Investigated? What a JOKE!! It was put here for the world to see. It was offensive on many levels and has now dissapeared. I know several board members saw it, and have the emails to PROVE IT. I don't want to go there, but I will. As those of you that have excahnged emails and info with me know, I take confidential emails VERY Seriously, but if I see a farce being perpetrated I just may post those emails.

Just a personal preference LTL. I trust in my boating abilities at night, just not so much trust in others. That's why I gave up motorcycles years ago.
As far as you reducing my "rating," I can't tell you how much that depresses me. I am now going to have to change my resume from a "3" to a "2." That really sux. Oh, the humanity of it all. Is there any reason to go on living?
Looking forward to personal attacks and insults to follow.

Peace,
Lamont

Thats curious. When I rated you it went from 2 to 1. Thereby the "half' comment. Somebody else doubled you up. I will change you back to a positive. I couldn't handle the guilt when I read of your suicide becasue of your low ratings....lmao.

The boating at night thing I somewhat understand. But at night, jsut like in the day, I spend more time drifting than under way. I jsut love to drift and watch the sky. The advantage is that there are so few boaters out, it is cool and calm, and so quiet that you hear other boats coming in time to be ale to take defensive measures if needed.

I do make exceptions to the night rule during the week however, I am near Chuck's slough and get a tremendous amount of traffic so, I stay put on weekends and impose the same rule on my kids. Two years ago, my oldest, who was familiar with the lake, ran aground at night so, no exceptions for the kids. I'm one mean Tyrant.

Well NOW I have to report you for child abuse....lol. I don't get down that way much, especially at night, but I imagine it is heavy traffic. Weeknights are absolutely the best. I especailly like the nights under a new moon. The stars are jsut fabulous being out away from the lights and no moon either. It will remind you how small we really are in the grand scheme of things.
