It might be a good time to revisit the proposal to create "Lake City" (actually called the Lake Martin Development Council), as epitomizes much of my thoughts which are in question the past few days:

The top is hard to read, but if you scroll down you will find a second copy that is much more legible.
Keep in mind that the largest area by jurisdiction would belong to Russell Lands, giving them the power to appoint the "at large member."
Also keep in mind the relationship that APCO has with Russell Lands to create all APCO developments, and the relationship with Russell Lands and Alexander City and Tallapoosa County (primarily from the tax basis).
If you believe this is dead, or not going to happen (although I suspect it may change some, thanks to whomever leaked this from APCO), I believe you will be very disappointed one day. If Russell Lands simply "lets this go, it would be a first.
