It's about an article he did for Playboy in 2000 titled "Porn-O-Rama. To be more specific would cause this post to be deleted.

Franken wrote for Playboy magazine, including a series of articles about virtual sex, including references to his 12 year old son using the internet to look at bestiality pictures. To quote an early media supporter of Franken who changed her mind,
"In his Playboy romp, Franken fantasized about oral sex delivered by a machine, as well as sex with combinations of females who fit the Playboy view of women as big-breasted automatons, panting at the prospect of servicing the likes of Franken. That's why they call it fantasy, I guess."
After she read the piece (which was initially filtered out by her server) she was disturbed enough to write a column. I await his apologists to come to his defense but he wrote this when he was 43 years old. This is not the work of a juvenile (at least chronologically albeit mentally it may be). This is also not satire as his apologists want to pass it off as. It is the sexual fantasy writings of a disturbed man with no moral compass, which could explain why while he screeches for more taxes on the rich was himself a tax cheat (cheating not only the government but his employees by not paying payroll taxes).
Possibly soon to be a U.S. Senator due to fraud by Democrats.

Well, I'm certainly not going to apologize for that.
Myself, I don't consider that pornography, just really bad writing.
But I admit it is a mark against Franken's judgement.
My two cents.

OK. Lets do a poll on the forum (yes it is unscientific but I can't avoid Zogby).
Question 1: Is Playboy a pornographic magazine?
Question 2: Is writing about fantasies involving having sex with multiple Playboy bunnies pornography?
Question 3: Is writing about your 12-year old son viewing bestiality on pornographic (his words, not mine) internet sites pornography?
My votes are yes, yes and yes.
You see, this is the problem when you back yourself into a corner backing someone like Franken. As more details come to light (and you asked for it) you are forced to take even more indefensible positions or your house of cards come tumbling down.

Look guys .... you need to lighten up on me a bit.
I always thought of pornography as photos or film. But after reading your responses I went to the dictionary.
pornography - obscene writings, drawings, photographs, or the like, esp. those having little or no artistic merit.
So, I was wrong - writings can be considered pornographic. And now that I know that, I will agree that Al Franken wrote a pornographic article.
Now, I am trying to ratchet down the vitriol ...... can I get a litte help?

Sounds like Franken will fit right in. Too bad we will not be able to "enjoy" any more of his wonderous pieces until he leaves the Senate. Last person with morals in DC please remove the American flag... Too late.

It seems to me that a lot of people who post on message boards (not just this one) seem to think that their opnions are indeed worth more than two cents.
My tag line was just my way of saying that I fully realize that my opinions are no more valuable than anyone else's.
I will stop doing it (okay I may forget and do it occasionally, but I will try not to do it every post).
