Believe it or not, Alabama has a wine trail. Wife and I have visited three of the eight that are currently participating in the trail events. At each stop they will stamp your "trail passport" and when you visit the last one you get a wine glass bearing the logo of each one.
Morgan Creek is one of the seven, and the place is pretty impressive, the winery is not that old but very nice. The other two we visited were Vizzini Farms Winery in Calera, just off I 65, and Perdido Vinyards, about 45 miles north of Mobile just off I 65. Perdido was the first legal winery in the state of Alabama, not near as fancy, but had some good wines. I think most of your winery's in Alabama are gonna be using muscadine or scuppernong and not concord grapes due to the climate, although some of them do import some grapes to make some of your more traditional chardonnay's and merlot's. Also one in Clanton, one in Anniston, and maybe one in Gadsden.

Now you know everything I know about wine, it's time for a beer.

That was very informative ... who would have thunk it. Alabama just does not have the climate for growing quality grapes. There are wineries in Geogia too but the wines .... well being polite, they are not very good. Grapes need cool mornings, warm afternoons (not hot or it cooks the grapes) with lots of steady moisture. Grapes that ripen slowly from long steady temperature produce the finest wines. That is not even getting in to the soil and the minerals and metals that effect the taste and enhance the complexity of wine.

My my pi aren't we being very observent of others typo's today. Thirty seconds of research on google and you could have cleared this up on your own, but here it goes. There are currently eight wineries on the Alabama Wine Trail, but there are more wineries in the state that have for some reason or other not chosen to participate.
Hope this clears things up and you can rest easy for now pardner.

Why should he (or she) be willing to do thirty seconds of research when you aren't willing to do fifteen seconds of proof-reading?

My comment about the research was tongue in cheek, but you seem like the type who would grin while kicking a man when he is down!!
