I have never attended one of these meetings before but I am thinking about attending this one. My question is, are these meetings informative and useful to a newbie like me?

If you don't know anything about the Renew Our Rivers project and think you may like to participate it will be informative.

About ROR - In 2007 - 450 volunteers pulled 13.58 TONS of trash and debris from Logan Martin. I don't have the figures for 2008 but you can see it's a very worthwhile program. I've added a link to the APCO website that has more detailed information. It's a joint effort of APCO and LMLPA. The meeting Thursday will more than likely involve planning and logistics.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the information. My neighbor participates every year and I think it is a great thing to do. I have it on my calendar for this year...

I hate to admit it but I'm not going either. I have prior commitments, too. Since it's a logistics meeting I don't think we'll be missing anything we didn't hear last year. We just need to be sure and post the dates and times on here. It's sometime the end of March first of April.

I was thinking about spending the weekend at the lake again this weekend since last weekend was such a blast - but jeepers - I don't think I want to ski in snow flurries. I remember seeing the bass fishermen last year fishing on a cold morning with snow flurries and I thought they were crazy.

Yea, I have been itching to get up there and make up for all of the time I missed last year.....BBall Softball has begun so time is short for a few weeks.

If anybody went please let us know.....

Hi all. I went to the meeting last night. They went over the details for the lake clean up. It begins Monday, March 30th, and ends on Saturday, April 4th. The times are 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. The picnic on Saturday will be at Lakeside Landing. They are looking for volunteers (street captains, pontoon boat captains, etc.). Pontoon boat owners are encouraged to call Bud Kitchin at 256-239-0242 to volunteer their boats.
