We are taking a one day trip tomorrow from Wetumpka to Prattville, possibly Swift Creek. I am not sure about going all the way to the dam since I only have around 38 gallons fuel capacity in a Ranger bass boat with a 150 Optimax. The only marina with gas I know of is in Montgomery. Anyone made this trip before, and does anyone have any suggestions?

Just got back a little while ago. Went from Wetumpka to Jones Bluff Dam and back. Ran around 170 miles.

Should be off-topic, but... I have an interest in this as well, but I'm interested in going from Wetumpka to Mobile in September or October. Anyone ever made that trip that can tell how long that takes (not being in a hurry)?

I'd be interested in going with a group of other boats if there are any others interested.

Yes Bruce, I hope to have the Sea Camper not finished but Sailable by that time.

I want to make the trip also.

My question, Is diesel easy to get on the river?
I would think so with the barges.

I would like more info on this waterway.
I know it's not LM topic but where would you find current and local info on the river?

I want to go Montgomery-Mobile on into the intercoastal and over to PCB.

The state of Alabama publishes books on the river sections as part of the Alabama Scenic River Trail. The navigable section we'd be interested in they call the River Heritage Section. Their information product page is at the link below. I'm going to order that section's book and see what is in it.

Bruce, I have made that trip before. You can do it in one day. There is a group that goes every year. I will put you together with them. Call me at 334-657-4349 and I'll explain.
