we just bought a mobile home on the lake for a weekend get away, im new to this lake but looking very forward to the rest of the summer. i have been on smith lake my whole life, i know the water is deeper and more diserable there but i like the people on logan martin so much better. My question, i have heard after this year the water level was not going to change much (as far as going down) has anyone else heard this.

Welcome! What part of the lake are you on?

We've been hearing the same rumor for several years but so far, no proof. The only change I have seen in my 4 years here is that last winters draw down didn't last as long as it had in the last few years.

It sure has been nice having a full lake this year. This place is even prettier when it's full.

Peace,
<><

Welcome to the lake. The normal draw down for winter is 5 feet. There has been a request in front of the Corp of Engineers to only draw the water down 3 feet but is still pending. They did not draw the lake down for as long as they normally do last year due to the drought conditions. They started raising the water earlier also. I hope the draw down is only 3 feet this year. Again, Welcome to the lake.

Yes welcome to the lake, we are not far from you and just across the main channel towards the dam in the slu where the wood octagon house sits on the bluff.

The lake is different than Smith but the people are great and I think you will enjoy your decision.

Let us know if you have any other questions,,,,, it has been quiet on here this year, we need some action around here.
