Lots of lightning and thunder, even more rain. Don't have a gauge, but I'd guess at least an inch, maybe more. And it looks like it is headed toward the east side.
Hope nobody takes damage from the lightning....it is pretty intense.
Curious... Did Aquapalooza continue after the storm? I drove over Kowaliga Bridge around 3:15 pm when visibitlity was about 3,000 feet for heavy rain. From the looks of it there were 5 or 6 cabin crusiers floating and waiting it out. Small boats had gone for shelter in nearby coves. I decided not to wait due to a long drive I had to make this evening.
Never started back up. Sun came out around 5:00 and there were boats floating around but the speakers got wet during the gully washer and the bands could not play. Bummer because a lot of work had been put into the event.
The Sweet Young 'uns played one song and stopped for about 30 minutes while it rained. They started back up but the storm was moving in behind them so we cut out after a couple of songs. We ended up spending an hour in The Ridge Marina waiting for the storm to blow over. We went back an hung out for another hour or so but all festivities were done.
We ended up making a decision to head for cover after the first song. About 6 boats made it to the Church in the Pines, where we spent an hour or so waiting on the storm to pass. Found out that there was another one brewing behind it, so we hauled butt to the house.
