There are some trails at Cherokee overlook off Hwy 50.

The trails off Highway 50 are great Try to Alpine Deadening Trail which is a 3.5 mile hike if you are ready for some exercise. Is opposite the Rock and will take 3 hours. Very beautiful hike.

Check out the many trails at Russell Crossroads on highway 63. Several locations up and down Hwy 63.

Thanks so much for the information, I have some friends that want to spend time at the lake, but would like to be able to go hiking also.
