Internal Revenue Service data show that 3 percent of Senate staffers and more than 4 percent of House staffers owed taxes in 2010, adding up to about $10.6 million in unpaid taxes. More than 98,000 civilian federal employees were delinquent on their taxes in 2010, adding up to more than $1 billion in taxes owed, according to the IRS.
Fire everyone of them immediately, unless they have just cause as to why, such as serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc !!!! Time to clean house and set examples !!!!

I think it is disgraceful to be on the federal payroll in any position and not pay your taxes. And I believe it should be grounds for immediate dismissal, unless you are in the process of resolving/negotiation the issue with the IRS.

Although I am a Republican, I will take that bet. It is probably pretty well divided irregardless to Party lines. Scoundrels and Scallywags will take advantage of either Party. It seems the more radical their Party affiliation, the greater their percentage.

Feb, we are talking about federal employees. Not politicians. A plurality of federal employees are Democrats and I would be willing to bet the majority of the scofflaws are as well. Maybe 90% is an exaggeration but probably not.

I wonder what the percentage is for medical doctors, engineers, lawyers, CPA's and/or any other sectors of our society? I bet the percentage of any professional element and/or white collar employees is at least the percentage quoted if not significantly higher. It seems like a lot of people like to throw darts at their own Country's civil servants. You may not choose to believe me. We were, and I believe still are held to a higher standard
I have personally undergone numerous detailed background checks for security clearances. This is one area that would trip you up in a hurry. You and I know this. Lets also face the fact that the military are Federal employees. My experience has generally shown a majority of them are Republicans. I have only served in the Dept. of Defense, and I would be willing to bet a large percentage of them are Republicans. It is a very conservative and straight laced work force.
Here we go taking a 3 - 4% and throwing the baby out with the wash water. Are you kidding me? When has the entire Federal work force become so evil with such a low percentage of scumbags as a small representation?
When has it become that folks with the freedom of choosing a political party other than your personal choosing become such terrible people and/or second rate citizens? I can not even believe you would insinuate such based upon their polictical beliefs. If you do, you indeed are not what I consider a true American. Those who do are a very sad part of our society. This is not what my grandfathers, my father and I fought to preserve.
It reminds me of the way many in the American Society treated others and myself when returning from Nam and while serving on active duty in the 60's and 70's. I was blanketed with all the others who I served with as crap. Now as a retired civil servant, it seems an ignorant part of society still wants to think the same of my career group. I have served with some very brave and hard working Americans, and I resent it when I see them criticized by ignorant and judgemental inferiors.
It is hard to imagaine people still displaying such opinioned ignorance. How many times have they had to take a sworn oath to their Country and expected to honor their oath? Yes, unfortunately there is a minuscule number without honor whether they are Republicans, Democrats or of no party affiliation.

I think the reason for the outrage is that their very salaries come from the taxes paid by others at the point of a gun. Its not about percentages, its about the fact that the government takes money away from us under threat of going to prison, uses a portion of that money to pay government employees and then some percentage of those very same government employees fail to pay their own taxes.
If you paid all your taxes then there is no reason to be defensive.

Hmmmm....I think that was a compliment but maybe not.... Feb, I am just an opinionated cuss that believes in very limited federal government and I detest paying any more in taxes than I absolutely need to in order to operate that limited government. Anything like the idea that federal employees are not paying their taxes while they are living off my taxes is repugnant to me.......
