Yes - that's the plan.  Keith Hiett and his wife, Debbie, held a big reception last Friday night at the Stillwaters Golf Club.  They have some awesome plans and certainly need support from our community - inside Stillwaters and out!  They hope to have the "closed" course open by next summer.

I hope that you will come join us here at Stillwaters Golf and Country Club. Keith has exciting plans for the rebuilding of the course and facilities. Memberships are now available at great prices. It is truly a great time to be a member of the staff and a participant in the efforts to return this golf course into what it once was. Please come join us and experience the transition.

I hope they are successful. Has ownership changed? Zettner bought it on the cheap but could not get enough revenue to maintain operations and make any kind of profit. What is different here? How can you maintain two courses when you can't keep up one? Not trying to be a naysayer....just trying to understand the business case.

I was sort of thinking the same thing.  No doubt the course is in better shape than it was a year ago but its still hard to justify the cost to play there when I can pay a little more for the RTJ course in Opelika that is much nicer or a lot less up at Lakewinds (which is better cared for but a terrible layout).  I am with you in that I really hope they succeed but it will not get played at that price unless the conditions really improve.  Finding grass on the fairway is a challenge and the greens are better but still not good.  I will still give them an occasional try to see if it improves but if prices go up I will travel the extra 20 minutes to play a much nicer course.  Would love to have a similar option right there but that will take a big investment.

It might be worth the membership fee to take a step toward opening the old course.

Not sure if I can play (physical), but I would give it a roll.

I believe I would plant corn on the new course.
