waterfowl hunting on lake martin is very much legal....just have to be certain distance from structure(piers, houses, etc..) early canada goose/teal season in september...if you've never hunted ducks/geese you need to try it...

Do you have any more info on hunting ducks/geese on Martin? I have a house on the lake and have wondered what the regulations are. Is there a website I can read up on this? Thanks in advance.

Do a search in free word for duck hunting, does not look too promising though, the one story was good, they were in blue creek, some duck landed and were swimming near the decoys, when they threw up the blind the ducks continued swimming expecting to be feed instead of flying away. Good luck.

I enjoy the ducks, but despise the geese. I keep bottle rockets here jsut for them. Every time one lands anywhere near here, I send a bottle rocket or two in their direction. They will destroy your yard and/or slough with their poop.

Rocks will also work, they do not come around my dock anymore even when the grandkids feed bread to the fish. I hate those little bastards.

it is legal you just have to have all your stamps, license, and non toxic load...must be hunting from a boat....certain distance from piers/houses(i think it is 100 yards) hard to hunt the lake b/c so many people feed ducks and geese in the yard which is only hurting the birds....i have had some success with the geese if you can pattern their roost site and morning feeding site.....sometimes they will respond to a call...find a good creek that feeds the lake and you should be able to shoot some ducks...mallards,black ducks, woodies, blue bills, buffle heads.early goose and teal season in september....the early season is to help control the geese population b/c they are such a nuisance...they ruin landscapes and crap all over your pier...go to alabama game and fish for more details
