Now that we got "Change" I think we are wondering what an ALL democrat congress and president will bring us. Lets look at Illinois with their all democrat leadership and the results they have achieved as an example. After all this is where Obama is from and the base of his experience.
Chicago.... Who Runs it?
Senators: Barack Obama & Dick Durbin
Representative: Jesse Jackson, Jr.
Illinois Governor: Rod Blogojevich (at least as of this morning)
Illinois House leader: Mike Madigan
Illinois Attorney General: Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike)
Chicago Mayor: Richard M. Daley (son of Mayor Richard J. Daley)
The leadership in Illinois? .....all Democrats.
Plus:
Thank you for the combat zone in Chicago.
Body count in the last six months: 292 killed (murdered) in Chicago
221 killed in Iraq keeping terrorist on the run
State pension fund - $44 Billion in debt, worst in the country.
Cook County (Chicago) sales tax - 10.25% highest in country. (WOW, and still in debt. I guess higher taxes do not fix things)
Chicago school system - rated one of the worst in the country.
They can't blame Republicans because there aren't any.
This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois.
And he's going to '"fix" Washington politics for us? Good luck and may God help us

I still can't figure out what is going on with that Gov Illinois thing. I'm not sure that there wasn't some kind of deal being discussed. But that kind of stuff goes on all the time, so it doesn't bother me as much as it might.
I'm more concerned right now with the stuff Bush is doing as he exits. And what Obama will do once his is inaugurated. Considering the economy (housing, credit, stock market, etc), the scandal in Illinois is small potatoes to me. I'm still not ready to tar and feather Obama... yet.

Odd how just presenting the facts gets you all excited to lash out. It is pretty clear that Illinois and Chicago have all democrat leadership for some time ... no republicans to mess with what they want to do and the results speak for themselves. And yes Obama is part of that democrat machine in Illinois. Sorry if you do not like the truth. If you have another point of view how they did a good job in Illinois and want to defend the democrats ... have at it.

Didn't really consider my response to be "lashing out".
The election is over and I'm waiting to see what Obama and his cabinet are going to do.
And I didn't say anything bad about what Bush is doing -- time will tell whether he is right or not. I don't know how what he is doing squares with the Obama solution.
I guess you could say I'm taking a "wait and see" attitude for now. The governor of Illinois is clearly an opportunist. Lots of them around, it's just he got caught at it this time.

What makes anyone think the "Obama solution" is the right solution? Why should Bush have to square with him? And I guess if a lot of people are rotten like the Ill. Gov. then it is OK if you don't get caught.

If you were talking about me, I have to say that I never got "all excited to lash out". Also, in fact I very much "like the truth". In fact, I didn't even say that I disagreed with your facts. Sounds like some Chicago Dems are pretty shady .... much like our Dem former governor who sits in prison on bribery charges. I have absolutely no reason to defend Chicago Dems who I know very little about.
The point of my post was that you seem to be very one-note. Dems always bad, Repubs always good.
There are two groups of people whose political opinions are interesting to me. Democrats who can also be critical of Democrats (Talloulah). Repubs who can be critical of Repubs.
The two groups of people who have absolutely no influence with me are .... Dems hwo ALWAYS support Dems and ALWAYS hate Repubs ..... and Repubs who ALWAYS support Repubs and ALWAYS hate Dems.

I just call them as i see them ... as i am sure you do as well.
I iowa senator that was caught in the boys room was a republican and i said he should have resigned immediately. His acts were disgusting and add that he represents the people make it worse.
I will defend Bush because i believe he has kept the nation safe and that is one of the biggest roles of a president. I believe in the war in Iraq as necessary to fight terrorism or we would have just had more attacks like we had under Clinton. They got worse and worse until 9/11.
The dems want to blame Bush for the current recession and financial crisis when they clearly own it and fought reforms that could have prevented it.
We will see what the country looks like in 4 years. I did post a positive that I hope Obama does well for the sake of the country and that I was impressed with the financial team he put together. They are people that could easily have been in a republican administration. That warms my heart that BO has enough common sense not to maintain his socialist agenda ... at least not immediately ... as someone is telling his how destructive it will be. I am sure the liberals are not happy with that.

Well, Obama is the President-elect and will take office on January 20th. I guess I'm thinking that as an American, I'd rather the current and outgoing Administration would not take a lot of actions that may complicate the way forward. I wasn't trying to make a judgement on who was right or wrong, just hoping that the economy doesn't get pushed one way, and then jerked back another.
Like most people, I'm concerned about all the bailouts, and the terms under which they are made. I don't mind throwing money at a problem if fundamental fixes are made to the source of the problem. And I'm not sure I'm comfortable with an outgoing President (regardless of who he/she is) making unilateral financial decisions for the country, when we all will have to live for a long time with the effect.

And I'm not saying that I agree with anything that the Illinois governor has done. I'm just saying that I believe that deals get cut all the time and don't get publicized. I'm all for proscecuting sleazebums.

That is perfect. We were supposedly opposed to Obamination because of his lack of experience in "politics". That is truly classic leftist thinking that someone should be qualified for anything because of their experience in politics. You see, we were opposed to Obamination precisely because of his POLITICAL VIEWS which are extremist, leftist in nature and all wrong for America. We were also opposed to the Messiah because of his lack of EXECUTIVE experience. God knows we wanted the mainstream media to carefully examine his POLITICAL experience because anyone that can survive in Chicago politics has to know where the dead bodies are and probably buried a few themselves.
So once again you are 100% dead wrong. I do give you credit for your total consistency.
