I'm sure you have seen the story.  If not do a search and you can find details but it boils down to it is too dangerous for black women to fly coach so she has to fly business or first class.  You know for security reasons, although she also travels with city paid security for her.

What I would like to see is every other black female state employee, especially her staffers that has been forced to risk their lives by flying in coach.

When does this end?  When do good people stand up and say no more?  Why do we subject ourselves to the whims of a bunch of demented, deginerate octogenarians, of whom most are riddled with dementia?

From the Declaration of Indepence:

"But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.--"

There are only two ways to affect real change in our government, with ballots or bullets, they stole our ballots and continue too almost with impunity.  What does it take to get conservatives in the streets to protest?  That's a rhetorical question since nobody can know the answer becuase it has never happened.  And sadly, looks like it never will.

If anyone has ever flown overseas in coach, it's pretty clear why she prefers First Class.  It's that sense of "entitlement" again, which certain races seem to feel.  It's outrageous to me that she would believe that she is entitled to fly First Class when the ordinary state worker is likely flying cattle class.

Not likely they are flying coach, the LAW demands it.  Upgrade above the lowest fare MUST be paid by employee.  It funny that she felt safe enough in first class that she had her "security detail" in coach.  Her ticket to France was $18,000.

Yes, it is not cheap to fly First Class.  I don't know about state laws, but the federal ethics laws that I flew on, said that even if you were offered an upgrade you were supposed to take it, because it gave the appearance to the taxpayers that their taxes are being wasted.  (I could never figure out how an average person would know I worked for the government, but still).  We could get special permission to fly business if we were flying through X number of time zones and would be officially met for meeting when we got off the plane.  That at least was some compensation for flying from Washington to Asia, but it was not a rubber stamp approval.  They were very conscious about it, particularly after some whistleblower called the IG about the Chief of Staff of the Army flying from the Pentagon to Andrew AFB to get on a plane.

I have flown an awfully large number of trips DC to Atlanta over the years and have shared the aircraft with folks like Sen Sam Nunn,  Hank Aaron, John Lewis, Wesley Clark, Bill Bennett, and a whole host of others. The one that impressed me more than any was when my seat mate in Coach Class was Rep Terry Everett. He was independently wealthy and could have bought the entire first class cabin, but put his wife up front and he sat in coach. And when I spoke with him during the flight he insisted I address him as "Terry". We need more like him.

Being a good steward of the taxpayers money.  People used to be concerned about passing the Washington Post test -i.e. how it would look if your actions ended up on the front page of the WP.

That wasbefore Bezos bought it. I am actually a bit disappointed that John Hyten chose to work for  Bezos, but it sounds like he is in a "rah rah for space" position but Bezos isnt a dummy and probably has him doing something behind the curtain

If he doesn't, he's wasting a valuable asset.
