that Obama gave Africa $1B dollars in govenrment, private investment and charitable contributions, while he was over there visiting?
Yet, our Congress cannot agree on a transportation bill to fund our aging roads and bridges. This summer, the tour busses were not allowed to cross the Memorial Bridge in Washington DC because the bridge is falling apart.

I think the whole Africa trip was nothing special when it comes to wasting taxpayer's money. Heck, the fuel costs alone was $6,000,000. Considering how much the federal govt wastes $1B is a drop in the bucket. I frankly am more than happy when Obama is playing golf or on useless junkets. He isn't home further screwing up the country.

Obama has made 42 out of country trips. Bush made 48 and Clinton 54. Did the Right complain about Bush spending all the money on the trips? Of course not...the Right are just hypocrites.

Not complaining about the cost of the trip. What I am complaining about is the gift of $1B to Africa. Money given to Africa will never make it to the people or to the development of Africa... it will line the pockets of corrupt leaders. The problem is that there is not usually much of a distribution system in these countries to get help out to the villages.

Did our congress approve of this or did he just decide that is what was needed ? I cannot believe that much money was give to a country that is run by corrupt people. I hope this was not true

I doubt it required Congressional approval. Because it is a mix of banking, private, and government funding. I'm sure the govenment part was under the threshold needing Congressional approval. State Department would have put it together. But then, State Department isn't known for practical thinking.

Your govt school education has failed you again Goofy. I never complained. I merely pointed out that the fuel costs were $6m followed by my desire for him to do more international travel so he can not spend time screwing up our country. I frankly don't like to wish ill on another country but if they want him they can have him and I would gladly see the U.S. Taxpayer foot the bill. What better use of our tax dollars?
