This may sound cheesy, but with all the bad news out there I thought I would start a new thread talking about the positive people on Lake Martin. Our lake next door neighbors, Carole and Thad Pruett are the best! When we were struggling to unload a large heavy box and drag it around our house on Friday, Thad showed up with a hand truck to help haul and came back with a power drill and socket wrench to help set up! Great folks.

That is awesome. Isn't it nice to know there are still good people about. So since we are giving kudos to those good neighbors, I will give one to Mr. Mike Goolsby, thanks for the air tanks this weekend. Our little one dropped his glasses in the lake. Not sunglasses, the real kind that he needs to see (that are pretty expensive). Mr. Mike gave us the tanks and PP was in the water diving for those glasses. After a day, and two dives PP emerged with glasses in hand. Thanks Mr. Mike for letting PP use your equipment, and thanks to PP, my wonderful hubby for keeping us from having to spend hundreds on new glasses. You both are wonderful in my book !

Lots of great stories! Our neighbor 2 doors down called us because the boat belonging to another neighbor had drifted out of the boathouse - these folks managed to grab it and tie it to their dock. But, they didn't know how to reach the boat owner (who doesn't live at the lake) and hoped we could call them. We did, the boat owner retrieved his boat and got it back to his dock. Pay it forward!

Yes, lake neighbors are the best !!!!
Ours or not only are neighbors, but have turned into one of our best friends.
Checks on the house after a storm, meets with my contractors when I cannot get to the lake, turns off the water if we are going to have freezing weather, great to our children. The list could go on and on forever, all I can say is they are the we are very fortunate to have then as not only our neighbors, but our friends, they are the BEST !!!!
PS - Almost forgot, cuts my 1/2 acre of grass in the Summer !!!!

Well I have to brag on my neighbors as well. I could not imagine any neighbors that could be better! Thanks for all the little things you do, thanks for all the flowers you share, thanks for being there when we need you, thanks for watching out for us, thanks for handling the trash can after service. Thanks for being you!

In our 'hood the good deeds done by neighbors is too long to list. Everyone helps everyone and just as Mav said, my neighbors have become my friends.
To quote my Father:
"The only way to have a good neighbor, is to be a good neighbor."

We have great neighbors also. It is so nice to have full-time, nice folks to watch after the place while we are not there.
