Anyone know of a good inboard (ski nautique) mechanic around the area? I've got a transmission needing rebuilding and a carb to replace.

Trying to keep from having to pull back to birmingham to Roberts even though they seem to be one of the best for working on the older inboards.

Good boat mechanics are hard to come by. My advice is if you've found a good one (even if it's in B'ham) go back to him.

Chris, have you talked to Ernest Divine (Slim) at River's Edge? He is old, but he still knows more than most other mechanics have forgotten. He just finished fabricating parts for an outdrive on an older houseboat at the marina... I'm sure a transmission would be right up his alley. As you know, he no longer "officially" works there, but he's there just about every day. By the way, he'll be 89 tomorrow.
