Monterey runabout with a carb 350 and Merc outdrive. It started and ran fine Sunday afternoon. TOday my son took it out. It ran fine until he was ready to come in when it died, like you turned the key off, and wouldn't even turn over again. I towed him in and when we got it tied up it started. Later I was going to put it back on the lift and it turned over once and then nothing again. Any leads will be greatly appreciated.

Check to make certain the battery terminals are clean and the cables are tight.

Good idea GF, I had a similar problem on a pontoon and replaced the ignition switch and problem was solved.

I checked all the obvious and found no problem. Then I went on a hunt for where power stopped and found a blown fuse block down near the starter. Sierra # 18-8220. I have no idea why it's there and with a jumper wire got the boat started and back onto the lift. I'll order one today and be ready for the weekend. Any ideas on what to check to make sure I don't just blow another $33 fuse?

BTY, it's a 2003 5.0L carb engine, not a 350.
