I know, none of us want to hear---"we are from the government and we are here to help." But, would it be a good idea for Gov. Bentley to form a commission (to help homeowners losing property) that oversees, and advises rebuilding and insurance contracts at the requests of the property owners. There should be available contractors that have retired and insurance advisers that could become part time consultants working under this commission. I know we have state departments that help in these matters. I just feel that they will not be able to handle the multible rebuilds across the state and Lake Martin.

That should be a welcomed idea.  Too bad is makes sense, something one can rarely accuse goverments of thses days.
Having an insurance advocate is a very good idea.  That I know of, we have two in our area. Jack Pounds and Jim Price.

We do not need " another " commission to " help " us. But really this is a discussion that needs to be labeled " off topic ".

There will be a lot of people going into most of the dealings with contractors and insurance companies blindly and without knowledge. If this is off topic, I'm sorry, trying to reach as many people as possible. If you think that the agencies can handle the load we have across the state, so be it.

your post was fine. It is the debate about whether or not " another " commission is needed that should be on " off topic".

Did you note that the topic was posed as a question? I respect your ideas. However, if you have read the forum for the last 7 days, it does not appear to be off-topic.
