They have their act together already. I would recommend it. Lots of fried, some broiled, meat & 3 specials, really good veggies, big cornbread, catfish, good slaw, great hushpuppies, huge burgers and....good tea. Smooth but unobtrusive service. Passed all my tests.

Cherokee Road, across from the Sherman-Williams Paint Store.
We ate there the day after it opened. Concur with RR's assessment. The fish was crispy and the sides were all homemade. They had a good crowd at lunchtime, with a few people waiting for a table.
The owners have another restaurant in Sylacauga, by the same name.

If it is the same Finchers that started in Alpine they will do well. They have an excellent reputation and have been in business for years with good food and service. I am anxious to get in and see them.

Had lunch there today. My hubby had grilled catfish that had only seasonings on it, no heavy breading. Was very good. I had the Tuesday Special - chicken and dumplings and for once, I can say it had lots of tender chicken and a small amount of dumplings. Usually, you get tons of dumplings and a smithering of chicken. It came with one or two sides. Beware of the green beans - they are very salty. Good amount of fish on the menu. We were there at 11:50 and had no problem getting a seat.
