Why is APCO pulling the lake? Is it so they can clean up after the tornado?

I would suspect it is to keep the downstream river flow.
I will ask them today, but from past conversations no mention was made about drawing down the lake to remove debris.

Throw in a lack of upstream flow.

I understand that but we are having rain and it is my understanding it will be down to 486  in a month. We are lower now that the last 2 - 3 years ( by the graph ) so I thought it was some other reason than downstream flow and gererating elec. Maybe what I heard is incorrect. Hope so.

Over the years I've heard some crazy rumors about water management and a huge percentage have been incorrect. Fact is, when there is enough water to meet mandated requirements APC will keep the lake about 6" below the rule; If there isn't enough water, the level will drop. Not too long ago, I jokingly stated that I wouldn't be surprised if the lake was down to 486 by Aquapalooza....could it be I've started an urban legend? Who knows, if it doesn't rain it could end up being a true prognostication.

I did hear 486 by Aquapalooza, not a month as I stated, but I don't know you !!!!!!!  What will be will be anyway.

Well, rumors travel fast around here. One person hears something and then say "I heard_______" when talking to a friend.  Like many folks on here I have friends all around the lake, so it wouldn't surprise me if it was my statement that got turned into a rumor. My mom passed along a rumor to me a few years ago that I know was a derivative of a statement a friend had made. That particular rumor had taken on a life of it's own and reached her via email all the way out in Arizona (from a lake friend). Point is, rumors travel fast, take on a life of their own, and are often incorrect. That said, here's a new one:

I heard weather patterns are going to shift and sooner or later we will more than make up for our rain deficit.....Lake lovers need not worry, because the lake will remain a fun place to be all summer.
