What is the process for going up the tower? Just show up and strart climbing? Wait for others to come down? Open sun up to sun down?

Yes, yes and yes. Max at top 10. But would be crowded. I would say Max would be 6 to 7.

We enjoyed the hike up and the view was great. Well worth the trip. I think the trail should be better marked, we started following the survey tapes on the trees but managed to get off the path. (took the "scenic" route to the top).

I know it's in the blue creek area - are there signs pointing the way or an address of some sort you can plug into gps?

Per Google Maps the GPS Coordinates that will get you very close are 32.811904,-85.835184 Just stay on Smith Mountain Road till you see Tower Road and the parking lot is at the end of Tower Road (Best I can tell from looking at Google Maps is Tower Road use to be called Lookout Point). Google - Lookout Point, Dadeville, AL
