The link below leads you to the videos of the arrest and booking of the DA that used the ham sandwich theory of indictment as political payback.  Even Dems are scared of this tactic but looking at these videos you can understand how this woman would do what she did.  What is ironic is that like Perry's response to the invaasion of our southern border this is probably going to do more to help Perry than anything else.

The sad part is she gives drunken sailors a bad name......

The modern Democrat party star!

A great resume enhancer for Perry's 2016 Presidential campaign signs. Let's see Christie and Bridgegate and now Perry. Guess that leaves the right with Missy Sarah for 2016.

Lets see.....a drunken, belligerent Dem is a resume enhancer for Perry....considering he is using the tools at his disposal to rid the Texas government of an obviously flawed official, I think I agree that it is indeed a REAL resume enhancer....shows REAL leadership.

You just don't know when to keep quiet.

I am actually amazed at the litany of left wing outlets and Dems that have roundly denounced the attempted criminalization of political differences.......that's OK, two can play that game.  Either way I am with you, I would rather be on the side of the guy that tried to get a disgraceful, corrupt drunk to resign than to be with the drunk......but then again I am not a Democrat.

I think Rick Perry and this woman deserve each other.   I don't think either one is a sterling example of their respective parties.

I fail to see any similarities between this "woman" and Governor Rick Perry. If she is a sterling example of what a DA should look like, I hope I am never ever confronted with a DA who exhibits such unique qualifications. Enough said!!!

He may not think on his feet very well, but surely you don't compare the two on the same scale.  Have you watched the DUI video?  The sad thing about it, other than she is totally trashed, is her attempts to intimidate based on her position.

I'm not a fan of Perry.  And to turn his booking into a media circus -he should be ashamed. Obviously, if what he did is appropriate, then he will not be prosecuted and he will be vindicated. That is the right time to hold a press conference and speak out.  And clearly, this woman is not fit to serve.  I'm weary of politicians for these behaviors.  Where is the dignity?  I'm tired of political grandstanding.  No politiican is above the law and any one of them that thinks they are needs a reality check.  It used to be a disgrace to be arrested for anything.

I kind of chuckle...in a nice way, when I think back in the early days of our posting answers to each others' point(s).  I was bemoaning the loss of traditional social values and you said basiclly:  "get used to it because it is the new normal".  Well I am sad to say you were right and even sadder to say, with regard to politicians:  Get over it because it is the new normal :-(

I am somewhat ambivalent about Rick Perry and he would not be in my top 5 choices for the GOP nomination but he is nothing like this crazy DA.  Not sure if you watched the video of her arrest but the fact that she still has her job as a public servant is in my opinion nothing short of disgusting.  If she had a shred of dignity, which the video demonstrates she does not, she would have resigned in disgrace.

As for Perry's response to what is clearly a political payback for his veto, I may not have handled it that way but I can understand why he did.  The fact is he is taking a big risk by openly responding to this ridiculous indictment (something that a great many Dems have publicly agreed with, including amazingly the NYT, David Axelrod, Lanny Davis, etc.).  At the end of the day it is hard to predict whether this will become his political death, at least on the national scene.  But since this appears to have been a political attack masquerading as an indictment maybe a political response is what is in order.  It surely reminds me why I despise politics and believe in limited government.....the kind of people drawn to politics....ugh!

On that you and I can agree.

I also agree that the woman is not fit to serve and should have resigned and apologized.  Far too many these days are only sorry that they were caught, not that they are sorry for their actions.

I doubt this will be the political death of Perry - unfortunately this is the "new normal".    And BTW, I have always been in favor of traditional values, but unfortunately, those of us who are, are now in the sad minority.

I went to a presentation by a marketing guru who studies inter generational differences and the interesting thing about Millennials is that they as a group are more socially and economically traditional than GenXers.  They have seen firsthand the damage done by a loss of traditional values and are more open to them with a modern twist (ie, more open to gay marriage,,etc).  Very down on the divorce culture but their response is to avoid commitment. Interesting stuff. If you are interested email me and I will send you a copy of her slides. It's mostly about Catholics as it was commissioned by our pastor but the info on the differences between generations is applicable in all circumstances.

Ot was really interesting to me because we have employees from most of the working age generations and there are some important differences that we need to keep in mind when we work with them.
