Sitting out on the deck drinking my morning coffee. What a beautiful day. We are new to Lake Martin. We have enjoyed our home now for 2 years. We try and get here as often as we can. Hopefully retiring here soon. I am trying to plan our next visit. I have seen the lake in spring , summer and even winter ( lovely snow in 2014 ). When is the best time to see the fall leaves ? Any advise would be appreciated.  Thanks

It's beautiful any time of the year-- I agree... fall foliage last year was in mid October through November -- but I have noticed some leaves already turning this year.. so it may be early.

We will try for mid October.  In general fall is my favorite time of year. It is lovely,  the weather is mild and of course there is college food ball. Thank you for your in put.

I agree - last 10 or so days in October to the first week in November should be great!  I took these photos of the Cherokee Alpine Ridge Hiking Trail on November 2, 2009, if this helps:
