you are a realtor that has had a hard time competing with Russel Lands, thus your animosity.
You obviously don't know their current management very well, (based on your derogatory comments).
I just saw Ben and Gene the other day, and if you think these guys are in their "twilight years" and "asleep at the wheel" you are the one who is up the boohia shooting pukekos.
And just because someone or some group or corporation, wins at business doesn't mean they are the bad guys, they were going to eat your lunch because they had all of the cards, all of the money, and all of the lake front property.
Furthermore, the guys running Russell Corp. made a lot of money for the stockholders, which is what they were hired to do. Just like the guys running Exxon. You should have bought stock.
You probably think that gas prices are too high and that Exxon makes too much profit. I use to believe that, so I bought stock. Now I hope gas goes to $10.00/gal. The increas in the stock price will more than offset my increased gas costs.
Learn to play the game and follow the winners. Then you won't have time to complain and start rumors

I'm not, and never have been a realtor. I have never been in any business that was in competition with RL.
Gene Davenport was forced to resign (and not due to his health reasons), which is why Tom is there now. I own(ed) Russell Corp stock, and FoL. I also trade in oil. I am not concerned with money, for while I certainly don't have as much as Russell Lands, I have more than I need, and unlike Russell Lands, I owe no one anything..
I am a "professional acquaintance" of Russell Lands, and personal friends with several of its current and former principals (including Gene and Ben). If you think Gene is happy, or that Ben is fully aware, you don't know them or their company very well.
Whatever....this has grown into more than it was intended. In my opinion, RL is heading down the road that will lead them to theiur ultimate demise. Ben will be gone, Gene will be gone, Tom may even be gone. But the decisions they are making today (and that credit has to be given to Tom, Steve, and the remainder of the current regime) have already put the company in a political and financial position it had never even hinted at before. Public sentiment is now decidedly "anti-Russell," and never before has the comapny been on the line for over 1.2 billion (with a "B") in debt.
I honestly couldn't care less. In my opinion, this area will be in a better position economically and environmentally when Russell Lands is merely a bankrupt memory from generations ago. I just commented on my belief that we are here to see the beginning of the end, and evidently others are noticing it as well (whoever is putting up the "Tom's" signs, at least).
I hope your day is wonderful, and that oil and land continue to rise :)

Since Gene retired/resigned several YEARS ago, how is Russell Lands affected by his condition "at the wheel?"
And when you saw Ben and Gene, who was visiting whom? After all, one of them now lives in Birmingham.
So are you of the (mistaken) opinion that Gene Davenport is somehow still hard at work for Russell Lands? Or are you just arrogant enough to drop a few names (and lies) and think that no one else will notice?

Are folks nuts .Without the Russell family this lake would be covered from Alexander City to the Little Steel Bridge with mobile homes. They could sell it all tommorrow if they wanted but they are wisely looking out for their great grand children and those of us already here get to reap the benefit . If people think it's expensive now , just wait ten years .

HOT ROD is bitter because he is poor. If he were a member at the right clubs, he would know who the directors are and when certain people are in the same location. He thinks he is smart because he knows who I am. Most people do.
Most people don't know who he is, but you can bet that he is one of those people who lives in a trailer, and is afraid to divulge his own name.
BTW I agree with what you said about the RL people.

I am bitter, but money has nothing to do with it; I just get incredibly p!ssed off by stupid people.
Stupid people who think that money is more important than anything else are especially aggravating.
By the way, I'm a member of every club that I want to be; I did turn down an invitation to join Willow Point, though. In fact, the man who invited me was none other than Gene Davenport. But I saw no reason to hang out with people like you any more than I already had to, so I told him "no thanks."
