Heading for the uninhabitated beach (more or less)..
Got too busy around here..
Leaving as soon as the place here closes..within a couple weeks
but will keep an eye on the forum once I get back up on the net..

Sorry to see you go LB....never met you but you seemed like an asset to the lake. I understand your reasons for leaving...we haven't been there much this summer for the same reason. It's busy where we are...no need to go there for it...

From recent postings, suspected you might be looking elsewhere. Have enjoyed our occasional exchanges. You have been a "fixture" on our net and hate to see you go. Seem to have great knowledge about Lake Martin, especially about rules, regulations, lake operations, stuff.
Care to share what was more attractive?
Hope you will visit the web often in the future.

Lakebum, I hope you're not going to be disappointed. We recently sold property on the beach. A lot of those areas that used to be "uninhabited" are now condos, parking lots, restaurants and convenience stores. The beach is growing faster than any area of Lake Martin. Summer tourist come and go but the "snowbirds" come down for the winter and stay 3-4 months at a time. One other hint, if you have to deal with any contractors and they say they'll be there early next morning, that means around noon.

I'm not finalizing anything...going to look and see..if I dont like it...will move on...figure 6 months will tell the story...but...didnt see as many folks there as I have around here...
