This might be of general interest to some;
The Army Green Uniform will be retired during GEN Schoomaker's tour of duty. The Army Blue Uniform (modified) will become the issue uniform for Dress, CL A, and CL B. The Blue Uniform with white shirt and bow or four in-hand tie will be the issue Dress uniform; The Blue Uniform with a different colored shirt (khaki, light blue, grey are being considered) will become the CL A uniform. All insignia and accoutrements currently worn on the Army Green uniform will be worn on the Army Blue uniform (the large service stripes will no longer be worn on the Blue uniform).

To me Men in blue means the Thin Blue Line. They have a War in the USA. How in the hell can Goverment waste money on crap like this. It`s not the color of the uniform , i`ts the person wearing it. Wonder how much it will cost to make the change.

Jim, You have a valid point. I think things are the same with uniforms as they were when I was in (20 years ago). The uniforms for the enlisted will be paid for by the Army (tax payers), but I believe the enlisted will have to pay for the sewing on of unit patches and etc. They may get an allownce for that. I know the officers will have to pay for their own uniforms out of pocket since they only get a one time initial allowance. It ain't much. We are discussing the outer uniform, shirts and ties. I guess sock colors will change also. Too bad Russell is not into the production of military uniforms. They might be hiring as opposed to laying off. Oh well, another Army Chief of Staff will have his personal honor like the last one with the black berets. Just a personal opinion.

Russell's woven fabrics division does make the fabric for some branches of the military, but not the finished product.
