Just being there to 'get away from it all'. Being able to take a long boat ride before all the water traffic gets so hectic is a plus, also.

Feeding the little fish off the pier and watching the blue bird parents feeding their young. Also listening to the water trickle down from my stream without the sounds of traffic.

My great day goes something like this:
Early coffee on the porch, maybe two cups. Pack up the boat and go out for an early morning boat ride. Take my camera -- I'm still trying to get a good picture of turtles. LOL. The other day we were drifting around and came across a duck with young. She hustled them away before I could get a picture. Have a few friends over a casual late lunch or maybe take the boat up to Sinclairs (salad, only salad.. LOL)
Love to watch the hummers coming into our feeders. The other morning, I had on a pink T-Shirt and two hummers hovered in front of my nose, I guess trying to figure out if I was a flower.
And in the evening, I love to sit on the porch and listen to the tin horn froggy symphony.

Coffee on the porch early. A run in the neighborhood before 8 or 90 degrees whichever comes first. Egg's Florentine for breakfast/brunch. A long kayak ride before the waverunner's or skier's get going. Mid day swim, followed by some time to read my latest book.
Cocktail cruise with friends and/or family, followed by dinner. Evening board games or a good movie.
Honestly, any day at the lake is a great day!

starts with grand children from Co and Maryland, visting PaPa on the lake.. Wake with a 4 year old grandaughter on one arm and 3 year old grandson on the other ready to go swimming.. Kissing cousins and great friends... NaNa had to sleep in a different bedroom.. When they fly out of Atlanta on Saturday, we will compensate for that..

Either early morning as the sun is coming up or evening when the sun is setting.
My favorite time of year on the lake is the dead of winter - I love the quiet and peacefulness.

that's cool. As has been stated, the reason we read this board is because we love this lake. If I can make a comment without being jumped, that is just super cool. The remarks that have gotten me jumped in the past largely had to do with my concerns about the future of this lake. Some people don't want to hear or think about that. They don't agree with my view. Ok. I keep reading to see if others feel what I do, and more and more people are subtly finding ways to express the same. I think we should all have the same privileges to express our views, likes, concerns etc without having to worry about insults and so on. It gets personal because of our love of the lake and the fact that our lake needs are often contrary to the needs of others. But I don't think we should make it personal. I shouldn't have made it personal either. We are all in the same boat. Nuf said on that. It's Friday. Have a great weekend.
