Smoking a turkey breast for Labor Day.  Anyone have experience with brining.  Is it worth the time and effort.

Definitely worth the effort.  1/4 cup of Kosher salt to 1 cup of water is what I use.  You can add all sorts of spices if you like.  Tons of recipes on the internet.  Just google Turkey Brine.

The purpose of brining is to "plump up" the breast so it doesn't dry out. I always brine my turkey and I think it really helps to keep the meat from drying while cooking. Well worth the effort. And it doesn't add any "salty" after-taste.

Looks like I'm brining this weekend!  Thanks!
