The morally straight republicans are at it again. One must be proud to be a republican and explain this to their wife and kids.

Republicans spent $1,946 at topless club

By CHARLES BABINGTON, Associated Press Writer Charles Babington, Associated Press Writer – 17 mins ago

WASHINGTON – The Republican National Committee spent $1,946 last month at a sex-themed Hollywood club that features topless dancers and bondage outfits. Now the GOP wants its money back.

Listed in a monthly financial report, the amount is itemized as expenses for meals at Voyeur West Hollywood.

At least the vast majority of Republicans have morals...what do the vast majority of Democrats have? You can fill in the blank_______!

The truth really hurts. Why not just state how bad it is and move on. No, you conservatives have to damn the messenger. Get real.

Since you can't fill in the blank, what about a multiple choice question...or to make it even easier , what about true or false?

This Mr. Brown apparently made a couple of mistakes. It seems he thought it was December, in Copenhagen, as a member of the Democomm Speaker Pelosi's group, and the US taxpayers were picking up the tab. He failed to remember he was using private monies, would be taken to task and held accountable.

This may sound strange to you but, I'd rather my Representative spend $$$ at a topless nightclub than run a "Ho House" for gay males out of his apartment..... ie., Barney. Have a nice day.

Apparently the economy wasn't the only thing being stimulated. Obviously this is morally repugnant to the vast majority of Republicans and as I understand it the staffer has been fired and good riddance. Not only a bad thing to do but a stupid thing to do.

Sadly, this is a resume enhancer in the Dem party......if you have no standards you will never be guilty of violating them......

The way that RNC Chair Steele spends money is consistent with the spending pattern of Democrats. As Lamont would say...Steele spends like Barney.

"The RNC spent $144,549 for rooms at the Four Seasons Resort in Jackson Hole, Wyo., in 2009. On March 19, 2009, it spent $31,980 for catering by the Breakers Palm Beach in Florida.

The RNC paid $18,361 over the past several months to the "Tiny Jewel Box" in Washington for "office supplies," which may have included trinkets or gifts for big donors. It spent $13,622 at Dylan's Candy Bar in New York City.

Some Republican officials and donors have complained about Steele's spending decisions, saying the party should devote every available dollar to trying to win House and Senate races this fall. He held this year's four-day winter meeting at a beachfront hotel in Hawaii, although it often takes place in Washington.

Some donors grumbled when Steele spent more than $18,000 to redecorate his office. Steele, a former Maryland lieutenant governor, also has received substantial fees for making speeches, even though the RNC pays him a full-time salary.

Steele's supporters say he has brought a refreshing frankness and energy to the party's leadership."

Yes I think any Lt. Gov from Maryland qualifies as a possible dem. I dont think he is conservative. But I think the real point that should be addressed is private money verses tax money.
This is just another case of private money going down the hole.
If the present tax structure continues or even worse grows you will see the philatropic America cease. Nothing but a bleak future lies ahead of a U.S.S.A.

I was referring to the moral issue, but now that you mention Steele's spending.....I would sure as he!! prefer his profligate spending from the treasury of an organization that I can voluntarily not donate money to than the immense spending on the order of trillions of dollars that Obama/Reid/Pelosi have done suing money taken from me at the point of a gun. Let's see, Steele's "profligate spending represents 0.02% of $1 trillion.

Don't bother lecturing us about spending as long as you support the big spending troika that is wasting trillions of our treasure......but thanks for letting me point that out. :-) Like shooting fish in a barrel.....

There was a lot about this on Morning Joe this morning. Money spent on some kind of bondage club, private jets, expensive hotels, expensive meals. Some contributors griping about how their donations are being spent to woo major contributors to make those $100K donations. Apparently this kind of spending doesn't play well for those that are making $50- $100 contributions.

I don't think Steele has distinguished himself as the head of the RNC. He had a good reputation in Maryland politics, but I don't know what's happened to him since he took over the RNC.

But back to the financial report -- I think it is probably true that the big contributors expect to be lavishly wined and dined.
I don't think Michael Steele or any high level party official is entitiled to having themselves flown in private jets using contributors money. The bondage club? Someone didn't consider the "optics" on this one - no one thought about how this would look, if it was a headline in a major newspaper in the US.

Lamont, you need to remember that socialists are clairvoyant having the innate ability, like a gypsy, to read a mind. Some minds are more simple than others.

with everything you said. I have not been happy with Steele and long ago stopped giving any money to a party org (RNC, RSC, etc.). I donate to specific candidates that meet my criteria and I don't limit it to my specific district. For example, I sent $100 to Scott Brown thinking (foolishly) that this would stop Obamacare.......sigh.....

That is not even 10 minutes of interest on the debt obama created in his first year in office. Sounds like a bargin ... why are you not swaking about that since that is taxpayers money ... RNC dollars are contributions from supports.

Boy your thinking and slams are very odd. Why not complain about the government waste rather than private sector waste?
