Our first warm visit to the lake was this weekend and it was great fun. Went fishin, caught a few bass. Got to chimney rock and my boat proceeded to stop working, think I got some bad gas or something. Anyways after a tow from a really cool guy we made our way back to the cabin to catch some more fish and soak up some sun. Met some great people this weekend and I'm looking foreward to this summer. Oh and by the way the Butcher Shop on Saturday nights has karaoke and is a good time with some good food.

Tate AU, Are you talking about the place on Coosa County 2? And if so, what did you eat and about how many people were there? I have had lunch there a couple of times, if that is the place.

That's the place. The food was great, I had the catfish and it was very good. There were probably 25 to 30 people there, ages ranging from 25 - 75 but mostly older people. I would reccomend checking out the karaoke on Saturday night. I think he gets his liquor license today, but if for some reason he didn't it is byob.

Thanks Tate AU. As I said, I had lunch there three times and it was not bad, but nothing to write home about. You get a meat and 3 veggies for $6, but he is kind of skimpy on the meat. Good taste though. As for the post below, Coosa County Road 2 comes off State Highway 9 in Equality. It is the road you would take to go to either Real Island Marina or Parker Creek Marina. It has been a Country Store and Buck's Country Store in the last several years. They have a lot of boat storage sheds off to the side. The guy running it now is displaced from the coast and is not operating it as a store right now, although I don't know why not. He is going to have a hard time making it as a M-F lunch place and a Saturday night bar/hangout. I'll try to help him though. Would love to see it do well and expand.
