I did not but did see some clips and read a lot of commentary. What a dark, angry, shout filled, divisive speech. Clearly they gave him far too much Adderol because he was totally hopped up. As best I can tell this was more of a campaign speech meant to throw red meat to the base and had very liitle to do with the state of the Union, which is understandable given the sorry state it has become under the current regime. Will be interesting to see the number of viewers. Maybe more than expected like watching a NASCAR race waiting for the big crash.

Had it on, but franky was more interested in the webinar I was watching to get another CPE hour for my certification. Was more interested in the Republican response by Katie Britt...which originated from her kitchen in Montgomery. The first part of it she was sort of wispy and I was beginning to think it not serious enough in tone, but when she got to the meaty content she adjusted her demeanor - at times serious, other times almost angry, but appropriate to the message at the moment. One element of the electorate that she explicitly reached out to was young mothers, which might have been a really good move, seeing that Trump has not been too favored by that group.
Back to Brandon. Yes, his SOTU was a blatant attempt to recover some ground and filled with more empty promises. I shook my head when he said he was the President for all Americans, maybe the most blatant of many lies in that presentation. And yes, he was speaking to his base, trying to plug the hemorrhaging holes he has created in their support. I would imagine the talking heads in the MSM are right giddy over the fact that he didn't fall on his face...literally and/or figuratively.
Maybe we ouht to make our Presidents "pee in the bottle" before each SOTU....last night's result might be telling....

The lies he told were so bad that even Politifact had to call him out on some of the more egregious ones. Reminds me of the old joke about government employee performance reviews: Biden sets low expectations and then consistently fails to meet them. The more I read and the more snippets I see from the rant the more disgusted I become. Even the leftist John King of cnnBS said it was the most political speech he has seen in 30 plus years of watching them. But leftists and the media, redundant term to be sure, loved it. The talking points are out and the word du jour is "firey". I prefer mean spirited, divisive and unhinged......but I live in the real world.

When it comes to jobs you have got to read this analysis of the latest report. This is based on BLS data and it has quite a number of shocking revelations. Some highlights....or lowlights is probably a better way to put it. 1) There were no new full time jobs created in February and in fact they declined....it was all part-time jobs. 2) While BLS shows job creation through their magical methods, ADP (a more reliable measure) shows an accelerating slowdown (ever wonder why you hear about all these layoffs and all this job cretion at the same time? Wonder no more); 3) almost all the job creation in the last 6 years, including during Trump's tenure, were given to foreign-born (legal and illegal, but mostly illegal) workers; 4) the booming January numbers were adjusted downward by over 30%... we can expect the same for February, long after the ridiculous headlines were written.
Read this and weep....but when some leftist like Goofy tells you how great things are you have plenty of ammo to burst their delusional balloon. This is why people don't think the economy is strong....because it isn't and the $380B in GDP in January cost us over $800B in new debt.

I didn't, but I saw the recaps this mornning. I think they are giving him "vitamin" shots laced with amphetamine. The rushed speech, the demented looks, the wild look in his eye and the anger (agitation) tell me what I need to know.
Frankly, I cannot stomach any more of his lies. It was an hour long campaign speech.
I don't know if Katie was nervous or what, but she really needs to work on her delivery. She came across as breathless and "preachy". They should have let Trump do the rebuttal, since Biden repeatedly attacked him.
Is this really what we want from the SOU? Some old hopped up man, telling lies and going on about the amount of Doritos and snickers in a bag?

He is truly unhinged but he gave the base what they wanted. His ranting about shrinkflation and greedy corporations is pure gaslighting, same with his failed attempt to blame Republicans for the crisis at the border. Everyone knows these are a problem of inflation that he caused and the lack of enforcement and his direct encouragement of illegals to storm the border. I really hope that Trump can stay on task and hit Biden on the issues and forget about 2020. So far he has done that and if he can manage a bit of discipline (I know, asking a lot which is why I won't vote for him in the primary even though it's over) he can attract a lot of independent and conservative Democrat voters to vote for him.
