Since FOX New is always Fair and Balanced, I am sure Water Watcher and his fellow Republicans will agree with the validity of the FOX news poll results released today which show that Barack Obama has recaptured the lead — 45 percent to 39 percent — over John McCain in the presidential race.

Is this why Senator McCain is suspending his election campaign and going back to Washington to work on the crisis?

The next thing you know we will be suspending the election until the crisis is solved. Yeah Right.

That this election will come down to the same situation as other recent ones: Who will actually go out and vote, and what the undecided voters do. I didn't think it would be this close so near to election day. After all the hype (on both sides of the election), it's amazing.

Yes you heard the national poll correctly. Very good, now you can go to 2nd grade and learn that we elect presidents based on an electoral college (no not the same type of college that smart republicans go to) and in the 5 battle ground states that will decide the election, McCain leads strongly in 3 of them. As long as he holds those 3 along with the traditional red states (which looks very likely and Alabama is one of them) he wins the election.

Maybe you were going to the bathroom when they talked about that.

I am sure your A.D.D. will improve with more medication. Be sure to buy it from Canada since we do not have a national health plan for you to get it free.

how incredibly ironic - on 9/18/08 you were all for the polls as evidenced by you post - slip slip slip obama and this in your post: "in the polls. Each new poll the lower he goes. Even some states that were considered "solidly democratic" are now "toss ups".

This could turn out to be the biggest landslide ever. "

now you say the polls don't matter??

Please pick a position and stay with it - why did were the polls so incredibly important and decisive a few days ago and now they mean nothing??

so typical, so very typical

Man, the pressure sure is getting to Water Watcher. Calm down son and stop acting like a sore loser before the election. Nice that the Republicans have finally agreed that they have messed up the economy and now are trying to bail out their buddies on Wall Street. Bush has been in control for 8 years but it is all Clinton's fault. Have another glass of fine wine.

Do you have a reading problem or are you just mentally challenged ... I hate saying someone is stupid, but if that fits better fine.

I agreed that the "current" national poll has switched. But as I said in my other post "key states" are toss ups. Now 3 of those key states are showing a solid lead for McCain. Each state gets a certain number of electorates, based on who wins that state gets those electorates to vote who will be president. The people actually do not vote for the president and we do not have a national popular election. I would hope that mcCain carries that national vote, but the left coast normally goes left and there are a lot of people there. The landslide would be winning a high percentage of states. Ultimately that is what matters.

Try reading better next time. I try to write so even you can understand, but there is night school to help you.

I had a few tonight. The wife and I just came from a very nice restaurant. Had a wine priced at $120 and total bill was $238. I am very relaxed. Had a great day on wall street today. :)

sweetie, hope calling other people names makes you feel better about yourself.

let me use small words so YOU can understand. a few days ago you posted how Obama was slipping in the polls and how that showed how well McCain was doing. Nothing in that post made ANY mention of the electoral college.

Now, with the polls going the other way and Obama leading, suddenly the polls mean nothing and it is all about the electoral vote.

it is so typical of you to attack when you get called out, I realize you really can't help it - just the Republican coming out - you so hate to be proven wrong by your own words. tsk, tsk, so sorry... it will subside, don't worry.

McCain might indeed win, again as I have stated before, it the house and senate stay dem, I will be voting McCain - not because I am a huge fan, but to keep the checks and balances as they should be.

dangerous for either side. It is absolutely the case that economic events were overtaking everything else and that inures to the benefit of Democrats (I will spare you why this boggles my mind but it is a reality that Republicans just have to deal with). That surely is reflected in the polls. If you look at the Real Clear Politics average it has Obama up by 3% and way ahead in the electoral college. My guess is that McCain and his team saw the same with their internal polling and decided they needed to do something dramatic. Or its possible that he saw the economic situation and decided this was more important? The cynic will go with the former and the optimist will prefer the latter explanation.

This does place Obama in a pickle. What happens if McCain goes to DC, leads the charge to get a bailout plan in place, the markets respond favorably, etc. while Obama stays on the campaign trail? As Dick Morris said on the radio this morning, McCain would take the economy mantle away from Obama and this move, if successful, could end up in hindsight being the turning point. If Obama returns to DC he looks like a follower (which is really what he is showing us with his reaction to McCain's decision). He actually said, "I'll return to Washington if they ask me to." That is not leadership in my humble opinion. And who are "they"? Why does he need "them" to decide that trying to respond to the economic crisis we are in is actually more important than a debate.

I think either way Obama comes out on the short end of the stick. What would have been a better in my estimation was for him to act presidential and immediately get on board and say forget the debates, we need to be in Washington to do the work we were elected to do. Then he could be front and center in resolving the economic crisis and people will quickly forget that it was McCain's idea, particularly since the media will always play everything to his benefit. He can probably still do this, and I suspect he will come to his senses, but the longer he waits that harder it will be for the media to cover for his poor judgment and lack of political sensibility.

wasn't trying to ... someone else brought it up. Since they seemed to have so much interest in my personal dining habits I shared so they did not have to wonder.

not so much, I think the request was for you to calm down and have another glass of fine wine - not tell us how much you spent for it or how well you did in the market yesterday.

but keep bragging, it will make you feel better with some of the trends going so against you.

Wow, that hurt. :)

I guess what is normal for me would be considered bragging to you. What is that Thurderbird stuff you were talking about before. Is it good? Is that what you drink? Where can I get it? What years are the best?

sweetie, you have me confused with someone else - why don't you reread the posts and direct it to the right person.

so not so subtle attempts at attacks really are as insignificant as your posts...surely you can do better.
